About Davy Klaassen

I was born on February 21st 1993 in Hilversum. At the age of 6 I joined my local club HVV the Zebras. In 2003 I switched clubs to HSV Wasmeer before joining the world-famous Ajax academy.

I made my debut against Olympic Lyonnais in the UEFA Champions League on November 22, 2011. A few days later I made a dream debut in the Eredivisie. As I was still a youth player I got number 39. As if it was written in the stars I scored my first goal with just 39 seconds on the clock, goosebumps.

Everton FC

After 13 years and having played 181 games for Ajax, I left for Everton in England in the summer of 2017.

Werder Bremen

On July 27, 2018 I made a transfer to Werder Bremen in Germany. I scored in the first (test) match I played in, on that same day. I am happy to play in the Bundesliga for a club with such a long history.

My boyhood dream to represent my country came true on March 5, 2014 in the friendly international match against France. So far I have played 16 international matches and scored four times.

  • Champion with Ajax, 2012
  • Champion with Ajax and winner Johan Cruijff Trophy, 2013
  • Champion with Ajax and Ajax Talent of the year, 2014
  • Winner golden shoe, best player in the Eredivisie, 2016

Cruyff Court

Going out to play football like I did when I was younger is gettting harder with densely builty neighborhoods and traffic on the street. By partnering with and having my own Cruyff Court I get to give the children of HSV Wasmeer the opportunity to play outside the way I used to.
